Shortly after the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus, two men were walking down the
road contemplating all that had happened. As they were talking, suddenly Jesus appeared among
them and walked with them. Ironically, they did not recognize him nor did they realize that he
had risen from the dead. He asked them why they were so troubled and they began to tell him
about a man named Jesus and all of the events surrounding his life and death. Instead of
revealing himself to them, he began to tell them how this man Jesus was the one who was
spoken of all through the Old Testament Scriptures, how he was much more than a man, and
how he in fact was the Son of God. As he walked with them for a period of hours, he revealed
to them all sorts of mysteries, wisdom, and powerful concepts (Luke 24:13-29).
We have no written account of the mysterious and incredible things that Jesus went on to tell
these two men that day and yet if we did it is quite likely that they would entirely change how
we view our Lord Jesus. Even though most of us view our Lord Jesus as a man like ourselves
who was mysteriously born as the "Son of God," the Bible tells us that he is a powerful eternal
being that has existed since before time, who is the Word of the Lord, the Angel of the Lord,
the Likeness of the Lord, the Glory of the Lord, and our Redeemer and Savior.
For so many people who merely visualize our Lord Jesus as the man depicted in their paintings,
this book is a journey through our Bible that will powerfully demonstrate that our Lord Jesus
was and is much more than a man like ourselves.
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all
things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether
thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Col 1:15-17
